Bau Nyale Festival, Lombok

     Catching Nyale or marine worm species (polycaetae) is the core event of West Nusa Tenggara province which was held in the village of Kuta beach fresh Pujut district 25 km from the town of Praya, in february or march (month to ten "stars rowot" on 20 by dating sasak).

         Bau Nyale festival stems from the legend of a beautiful princess in the kingdom of beautiful nan tonjang Beru named "Princess Mandalika" because so few princes her beauty captivated by him, some prince in the kingdom around him always try to apply for, and eventually the princess confused choose who will be her future husband, if she chose one of the prince will attend the jealousy that led to civil war between the kingdoms, to avoid this calamity the princess think to end his life by jumping from the top of the hill towards the sea.

          Until now if Nyale season arrives, people always flock to the beach the smell of fresh hold a welcoming ceremony held Nyale like betandak (pantunan), bejambik (giving pleasure to the lovers) and peresean.
